Amie was first introduced to yoga while a teenager studying dance at the Joffrey Ballet Academy in NYC and instantly feel in love. She continued her practice through college before deciding to become an instructor. While teaching pre-k and kindergarten, Amie received her 200hr Yoga Alliance certification at Sonic Yoga in NYC in September of 2005 and soon began teaching to both children and adults in her spare time. As time passed, Amie decided to leave teaching to pursue a full time career in fitness. Sharing her passion of fitness and health to both children and adults as well as furthering her fitness education became her lifes focus. She went on to received her 600hr pilates certification at New York Pilates, her barre certification through Lotte Berk and, last, her personal training certification through NASM and taught throughout New Jersey and NYC to all ages and levels. After a decade of bringing her unique style of effective, fun and safe fitness to the tri state area, Amie is looking forward to sharing all she has learned with Southern Maine at Yoga on York!
